Just Me

To all Canadians Who Love Sport

We are 1 year away from Vancouver! Support our athletes in their final year of preparation and training for the Olympics. Now is the critical time when they need our help!

Imagine being one year away from your biggest dream coming true. What if you could directly impact that dream with only $10. Help give our athletes the things they need: proper nutrition, the best equipment and a chance to represent all Canadians by wearing the maple leaf. No one achieves their dream without the help of others.

Hearing O Canada at the Beijing Olympics was my dream come true.

On November 16th there was the first ever live Telethon for Canadian Athletes.

Shaw hosted “Making It Happen” which was a huge success.  All donations and bids were matched by Shaw, raising a lot of money for Canadian Athletes!

I took part in the telethon along with other Canadian athletes. There were fifty athletes at any given time answering calls to place bids on auction items. My favorite phone call was with a gentleman bidding on a photo of the Canadian Men’s Eight. I got quite the positive reaction when I told him I was in that photo!

Thanks so much to Shaw and all of the volunteers. It was a great event, and even better to see a Canadian Company supporting Athletes.

Slowly, but surely we will get the word out ..

The note from a donor to the Can Fund!

'Could you please send a receipt? Thanks. We heard about you on the CBC Program the 'Inside track'. Keep up the good work.'

It is exciting to get a note like this in the mail, they heard us on the radio
and gave to the fund!

They gave a 100 dollars, which will get matched by Shaw so it will become
200$! It could pay for a heart rate monitor for an athlete to help their training.

EVERY BIT HELPS!

In the men’s eight we had help from the Can Fund. They were there for two years before the Olympics when we had to focus on the training that would make us Champions. Kyle Hamilton, our leader in the men’s eight said it best “Medals are won in the summer but earned in the Winter”

Canadian Athletes Now Fund, the CAN Fund is a not-for-profit organization devoted solely to raising funds and awareness for Canada’s athletes. The Fund has been set up to help Canada’s athletes ready for international summer and winter Games. Monies donated to the Fund are put directly into the hands of Canadian elite athletes to support their training, coaching, nutrition and living expenses in preparation for international competition. The mission is to underwrite the expenses of as many Canadian athletes as possible, as support is needed years before the medals can be obtained.

    • The Canadian Athletes Now Fund provides six thousand dollar grants to athletes twice a year.
    • When you give to the Fund, you find out the name of the athlete you help. A personal connection is formed with the athlete’s journey.
    • The money is effectively and directly giving to athletes who can use it for essential training camps, coaching, and food
    • Tax receipts are given for all online donations.

Do you want to be inspired? Here is the chance to be part of an Athletes journey.
