Factoring, also known as accounts receivable factoring, is abusiness term used to describe a method in which companies selltheir outstanding receivable invoices in order to gain immediatecash for their business. When a company sells a product orservice, an invoice is created stating the amount due and thenumber of days in which the invoice must be paid.
